How do I make a CVR booking?
Test bookings can be made by either calling +353 01 626 6152 or online.
Visual re-tests need no booking.

What do I need to bring for a CVR test?
Please ensure you have a valid form of I.D. with you for your CVR test. The only I.D. accepted is a valid passport or a driver’s license.
A pass statement cannot be issued without a presenter’s I.D.
How long does a CVR test take?
Test duration varies depending on the vehicle.
Light vehicles take up to 1 hr.
Heavy vehicles take up to 1 hr and 30 mins.
Equipment re-tests up to 45 mins.
Visual re-tests up to 15 mins.
What happens after I pass a CVR test?
We will issue you a Pass Statement. Your Certificate of Road Worthiness (CRW) will then be posted out to you from the RSA, including a disc to be displayed clearly on the windscreen of the vehicle.
What happens if I fail a CVR test?
All retests must be completed within 21 calendar days and within 4,000 kms of the initial test or you’ll need to repeat the full test.
A visual re-test is free, but a re-test that requires a test lane has a fee that is half of the normal test fee. You should repair vehicle fail items immediately and present the vehicle for a re-test as soon as possible.
When do I need to test my vehicle?
All commercial vehicles must be tested every year from the date of first registration.
